It doesn't get much tougher than this in motor racing - a 12-hour battle for near-standard production cars around the difficult and punishing 6.2km Mount Panorama. But once again Australian motorsport's best teams and drivers rose to the occasion in what was a hotly contested race of changing fortunes - and with an unexpected result at the end.
Mitsubishi's Lancer Evo X model was widely tipped to score a third consecutive Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour win, but the all-wheel-drive Japanese turbo was trumped by German technology in the form of the twin-turbo BMW 335i crewed by Bathurst legend John Bowe, Paul Morris and Garry Holt.
Once again the 12 Bathurst Hour had everything - including the bizarre, when a large tree uprooted and fell across the track! From dawn till dusk, this was truly an epic clash, and all the highlights can be seen on this dvd presentation.
