Classic Australian Touring Car Races Vol.7 revisits the last year of the old
Group C category for some classic 1984 touring car action. For many this was
the golden era of Australian touring car racing, and certainly it was a period
of legendary cars and an enormous variety of machines. This was not just a
Holden versus Ford V8 war; there was also the six-cylinder BMW 635CSi, the
four-cylinder turbocharged Nissan Bluebird and the rotary-powered Mazda
RX7. These five very different types of vehicles had differing strengths and
weaknesses depending on the circuit, something which is apparent on this
volume as we take in rounds of the 1984 Australian Touring Car Championship
from the Symmons Plains, Wanneroo and Lakeside circuits. Classic cars, but
also legendary drivers featured in these races: Peter Brock, Allan Moffat, Allan
Grim!, Dick Johnson, Jim Richards and many more.
